This year, with the rapid coming of the spring, some agriculturists were solving how to sow within a very short time with a lack of equipment. That was a perfect opportunity for testing the Softer disc stubble plough in pre-sowing preparation. The Softer has discs with an all-perimeter blade with a diameter of 510 mm (560 mm), ordered in two rows with independent maintenance-free mounting and an aggressive turning angle. Thanks to the independent mounting of every disc, the Softer perfectly levels even the raw spring wet soil.
For those conditions, rollers with strip soil hardening are suitable, such as the double ring (DRR), the rubber (LTX) roller, or the segment (SDR) roller.
The advantages of the machine, especially the low towing resistance of the Softer, were appreciated by its owner because he performed pre-sowing preparation at the foothills of the Eagle Mountains where the terrain is already significantly steep. Softer opened the soil after the winter, laterally levelled it and hardened it again.
However, the main use of the Softer disc stubble plough still stays the same: the first quick post-harvest ploughing-under of stubble and repeated ploughing-under with high requirements for the speed and quality of processing.
