In the professional journal Inform, published by the American Association of Vegetable Oil Chemistry (AOCS), we have published an article summarizing the findings of Farmet´s research and development related to mechanical oilseed processing and effects of various seed pretreatments before pressing onto feed value of the pressing cakes.
Although chemical extraction is still the most widespread technology for production of vegetable oils, the technology of expeller pressing is gaining in its significance and it brings a number of benefits. Along with the growing demand for locally processed products and so-called green technology (environmentally friendly, bio, organic, …) the expeller pressing certainly has its irreplaceable place.
